A former Royal Air Force engineer, David subsequently joined the financial services industry. Qualified by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment in Corporate Finance, Financial Regulation and Securities, David has worked alongside a number of companies raising finance and structuring transactions in the UK and worldwide. He combined his passion for finance, aviation and technology and conceived the initial idea for Ablrate in 2013. He is responsible for the day to day implementation of the technological development of Ablrate and the overall strategy of the company along with the Board of Directors. In 2018 David formed ASMX Limited and began working on developing a new Loan Exchange that utilises blockchain technology which aims to connect platforms and bring liquidity to markets where none exist. The technology, ASMX, was launched over the Ablrate platform in October 2020 and traded over £8 million in trade volume in the first few months of operation and continues to grow everyday.

Small cap sector-focused corporate financier, Alex initially focused on Operational Management within financial services companies. He moved into corporate finance in 2003 and subsequently set up a number of successful corporate finance departments within city-based stockbroker and investment houses. During the past 18 years, he has been involved in numerous stock market flotations and fundraisings for equity and debt securities as well as corporate actions for both private and public companies. Alex’s experience also includes 5 years working for SME Stock Exchanges were his responsibilities included the oversight for the exchanges’ pan-European operations. Alex is qualified by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment in Corporate Finance, Financial Regulation and Securities.

Catherine joined our business development team in 2018. She has 14 years experience in corporate lending, having worked for Bank of Scotland and Dresdner Kleinwort in London and Frankfurt in areas covering loans origination, loans distribution and portfolio management. Latterly, she specialised in underwriting and distributing private equity backed leveraged loans for mid to large cap companies.

Jade has over 5 years experience in banking, having worked for Barclays in a variety of senior roles prior to joining Ablrate in 2018. She has an extensive knowledge of compliance and financial procedures which she utilises alongside her customer relations background in her role as Ablrate Operations Manager.      

Emma has a background in customer service and relationship building, having joined us after a career in hospitality. For the last 10 years, she managed a successful restaurant and was also involved in the project management of their outdoor events, always ensuring the smooth running from design, creation and logistical planning, to being a personal point of contact for many high profile clients. Prior to that, she was the Account Manager for The Times newspaper at a large direct marketing company in London where she was responsible for representing and maintaining the integrity of The Times brand. Emma is here to get to know our lenders and is interested to hear any thoughts or feedback you may wish to share.

Natalie is our PR and Marketing Manager and resident pilot! Commercially qualified pilot Natalie brings her marketing experience from a wide range of industries in Australia, Switzerland and the USA to the Ablrate team. Natalie is responsible for the growing marketing platform that we operate, along with managing sponsorship opportunities and press. She frequently lobbies for the business to buy a jet so she can use all of her skills!

Ali has been with Ablrate since inception in 2014. After our CEO mocked up an idea on on iPad Ali made it a reality and has been involved in every iteration of the platform since then. He manages the platform, liaises with outsourced developers and technical partners and generally keeps the wheels turning.  Ali began working with us after a stint with Netsol Technologies who develop leasing and asset management technologies.

Philip has over 30 years senior management and operational experience in the UK and the UAE. His experience in the leasing industry stems from senior positions with automotive businesses and more recently in aircraft finance. Philip is our Customer Services Director and oversees the implementation of many of the systems involved with customer verification. Philip has created an environment of customer service within the company and would be happy to take your call on queries you may have.
